Run by Reg Frost, Selby Antiques sell a range of antique and retro furniture, collectables, pottery and porcelain in the main showroom, with vintage clothing in a rear showroom. Situated on the riverside, a few minutes walk from Selby town centre, with on street parking nearby. Reg Frost also operates an Antique and Collectors Fair, including retro and vintage. The fairs are held undercover in the grandstand at York racecourse.

Situated on the main road between Pickering and Scarborough, Shackleton’s A ntiques has a selection of antique and collectable pieces displayed over 2 floors. Of particular note are their hand made rocking horses and furniture, the rocking horses are beautifully made and a visit here is well worthwhile to see these alone. Run by Trish Wright, The Shabby Chic Room, which opened in July 2012, is a nicely laid out small shop selling shabby chic, vintage, French, retro and painted furniture alongside decorative and collectable items. When I visited there was a varied selection of furniture and effects on offer, painted dressers, farmhouse tables and chairs, retro furniture, vintage mirrors, kitchenalia, lighting, vintage tins and pottery, luggage and some nice reproduction cushions. Community Furniture Store. (Selby)
Selby Community Furniture Store focus mainly on used furniture and new white goods, however they also sell some retro and antique pieces and have recently opened a showroom named “The Work Shop”, which is situated behind the main building and stocked with painted and up-cycled furniture.
Furniture painting is carried out on site, customer’s commissions are also accepted, with discounts for commissions on furniture purchased in store.
